AITAH for not going out to eat to celebrate my brother’s wedding when I wasn’t even invited to his wedding?

A 19-year-old was turned away from his own brother’s wedding due to his age. The bride insisted on a 21+ guest list to prevent any “minors” from drinking alcohol at the celebration, leaving him hurt and uninvited for what appeared to be an unreasonable cause. Despite his repeated calls for reconsideration, his brother and sister-in-law refused to change their minds, causing him to emotionally withdraw from their wedding.

The young guy decided not to go to the family dinner that was planned to celebrate the wedding because he felt it was inappropriate to celebrate an occasion to which he was not invited. His brother and sister-in-law were disappointed and irate that he was unable to attend the dinner, as they were unable to comprehend his decision to skip out on the festivities. Even while his parents tried to appear neutral, they discreetly implied that they thought he should have put his sentiments aside and gone to the dinner, which heightened the stress.

The young guy maintained his position, believing it was unjust to force him to celebrate something he was purposefully left out of, even though the family was disappointed. The event created unresolved tension between him and his brother, demonstrating the emotional strain that can result from family decisions based on exclusion.
